Description

Your company is a growing, progressive electrical contractor in the greater San Jose area. Projects are primarily commercial, industrial and institutional  located throughout greater Bay and Silicon Valley . The emphasis is tenant improvement and new construction. They are seeking experienced candidates with at least 5 -10 years or more of electrical project management with midsized or larger contractor.

Your opportunity, challenge and responsibilities include complete responsibility for the profitability and success of the projects working with key clients. You’ll help estimate and manage the work from start to finish.  You’ll update cost projections for the project as necessary and provide a weekly update to management as to project status, problems, challenges, needs etc. In addition, you’ll establish field staffing plan for the project and work with the client and your team to identify potential changes in the project scope.  You’ll ensure key material delivery schedules are met, project stays on schedule and at or under budget and complete closeout documentation. This is a hands on position that will test your ability to complete multiple projects and expand relationships with the multiple clients.


 


 The skills experience and qualifications you’ll need to be successful are 5-10 years of electrical project management experience on commercial construction projects. You must be able to project manage work from small jobs in the thousands of dollars to projects in the $10M range. Many of the projects area in the $250K -$2M range. It is likely you’ll be responsible for multi-million dollars worth of multiple smaller special projects at one time. Experience in design / build, design /assist, cost plus and conceptual work desirable. Field experience and completion of electrical apprenticeship desired.  You must be familiar with industry-standard project management methods and local and national electrical codes. A good driving record required. You must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and other tests as required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Accubid 9 and Accubid Change Order 9 desired. Experience with other comparable estimating systems acceptable. BIM and 3D modeling knowledge desired. LEED AP and PMP Certification desired.
