Northrop Grummans Electromagnetic Systems Laboratory, located in San Jose, is a premier supplier of airborne reconnaissance systems, strategic signal processing systems, intelligence analyses, and telecommunication system products, technologies and services for national security, defense, public sector, and commercial customers. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of exciting, high-visibility programs with significant growth potential. Job description: The successful candidate will use his/her understanding of COMINT signals to maintain the performance of the current system baseline. The candidate will use knowledge of co-channel processing, co-site interference avoidance, Direction Finding and Geolocation algorithms, to accomplish these goals. The candidate will serve as the technical focal point, leading hardware and software developers to rapidly identify the root cause of problems found during I&T and flight testing. The following are the basic qualifications for the position: 1.) A minimum of Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Engineering field; 2.) Have a minimum of 14 years experience directly related to the COMINT System development life cycle; 3.) Have experience with system CONOPs, COMINT system architecture and design, signal analysis, and system I&T; and 4.) Be able to work in a team environment by leading a fielding team to sell off system through flight testing, delivering the final product to the customers. The following are additional assets: 1.) A Master degree in your technical field; 2.) C/C++, MATLAB and/or Python, Linux/Unix, VxWorks; 3.) PowerPC / Embedded Processors, Mercury Raceway data I/O, VHDL/FPGA programming; 4.) Digital signal processing and analysis; 5.) Signal modulation/demodulation, direction finding, beam forming, geo-location, Audio CODEC compression algorithms, and interference mitigation techniques.
