Description

Function as a Senior Consultant for clients of Verizon Business as a Windows Systems Engineer and VMWare virtualization consultant for design and implementation of ITS professional service engagements.

Requirements
   2+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting VMWare Infrastructure (now vSphere) software including ESX, Virtual Center, and Capacity Planner.  VCP certification is recommended.

7+ years working with Microsoft’s server and server related products in large scale, mission critical, highly available, enterprise environments.

3+ years experience with administrating recent versions of Active directory and supporting components.

Experience with implementing and administrating recent versions of Microsoft SQL Server and IIS.

Experience designing and implementing MS Clusters.

Experience administrating Business applications running on Windows servers.

Experience administrating Microsoft based file systems and permissions structures.

Tier 1 server hardware experience (Compaq, Dell, IBM)

Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCSE) preferred

Script and/or coding experience, preferably VB or VBA.

Possesses comprehensive technical knowledge and organizational skills to oversee, coordinate, and participate in highly complex projects with high visibility and high impact on the business. 

Ability to prepare technical reports, client presentations, design documentation, and manuals.

Able to work nights and weekends when necessary (during specific planned implementations)

Ability to travel as necessary (50-75%)   Additional Qualifications
(Additional qualifications to the minimum based on the specific needs of the requisition.):

Experience with enterprise storage architectures: SAN, NAS.

Experience with Cisco network devices and the ability to articulate network options for multi-tier highly available application architectures. 

Possesses comprehensive technical knowledge and organizational skills to oversee, coordinate, and participate in highly complex projects with high visibility and high impact on the business. 

As the individual will often be acting in a consulting role and as a technical advisor, consulting experience is highly recommended.

Ability articulate solutions to such diverse constituencies as project managers, clients, business stakeholders and engineers. 

The ability to quickly understand and be able to articulate business impacts of technical decisions and drive solutions to specific business problems through the effective use of technology.
